Selecting seeds is a crucial step in the germination process. Make sure to choose healthy, mature seeds from reputable sources. Seeds that are dark in color and appear robust generally have a higher chance of successful germination.
Before starting the germination process, it's recommended to pre-soak the seeds. Place the seeds in a glass of water and let them soak for 12 to 20 hours until they sink to the bottom of the glass. If a seed doesn't sink after 20 hours, try gently pushing it down in the water to see if it sinks or not. Generally, healthy seeds should sink.
Once the seeds have been pre-soaked, you can opt for the paper towel germination method. Place the seeds between damp paper towels and ensure they are evenly spaced. Keep the paper towels moist by regularly checking their humidity. Avoid overwatering them, as excess water can lead to seed rot. Wait typically 2 to 5 days for the seeds to germinate.

Place the germinated seeds into the soil or growing medium, ensuring that the taproot is pointing downwards. If the seeds are already over 4 cm long, make sure to plant them with the taproot facing downwards, as they won't be able to turn themselves once they reach this size.
